In August of 1962, Robert Hagstrom started Hagstrom Builder. Within
ten years, the company employed five carpenters and built homes and
additions for families that were designed, in Robert's words, "for
them, with them or by them."

Hagstrom Builder
transferred from one generation to another in 1992 when Peter Hagstrom
took over the business. It
was a natural transition: Peter had grown up on the construction site in
what his father called "old-style daycare."
On site, Peter worked what his age allowed him to do - picking up
trash, sweeping clean the floor, doing odd jobs here or there.
As a teenager, Peter completed "the crummy jobs" like
loading trucks, clearing sites and painting walls.
Says Robert about his son: "He
knows how to do things, knows how to think about doing things and that's
half the battle."
From the start of
the company, Robert believed that what he did was more than just
a job, and he passed on his love of building to Peter. Today,
Peter carries on the same tradition of craftsmanship the company
has become known for. All
of Hagstrom Builder's projects, whether additions, re-models or
new construction, reflect the passion each employee carries for the
construction process.
